Hi karyncpotts, it looks like with each horse, Josh decided to begin with the flag and liberty before incorporating a halter! If your horse is too sensitive for the flag, you may need a friend to help you get him comfortable with it, first. If you wanted to focus on liberty and flag work at home with your horse, I would re-watch Lesson 11, 15, and 19 before starting.
