A lot of mares and a lot of really strong women this year. Such great role models for our daughters!

Mares make you up your game so much! They have high standards. But once you win their trust, they are amazing partners!

I live in Maine and have three horses; I hoped we’d have a “normal” winter with snow, versus the rainy/icy ones of the last few years. And we got it! But I keep my horses at home and taking care of them has been a lot more work. I usually trailer my mare to a local indoor a couple times during the week, but haven’t wanted to do that yet.

I’ve opened up all of my paddocks and have been putting their hay in the far corners so they have to do a lot of walking in the snow. It’s not perfect, but my 31 year old Irish Sport seems more fit that ever! Also when I call them up for dinner they’ve been galloping up together. So I’m hoping these options are helping to keep them fit!
