I disagree with not riding your horse any more than a walk at 23°F. My horses here in Canada are accustomed to the cold. I wouldn’t overwork them but I feel that like us, exercise is important rather than not moving. But I guess if you live in Florida, horses are used to warmer climate. They grow thick coats and I do not blanket them unless there is an extreme shift in the weather (such as mild rainy weather & then the temps plunge into freezing temps).

I recently discovered that my 4 yr old horse is rather bit shy. How do I go about helping her accept the bit without forcing her when the bit itself is constraining?
